First Look: Urban Decay Flagship Boutique in Singapore

Last week, I popped by Vivocity to check out their brand-new Beauty Aisle at Level 1, which houses high end brands like Chanel, Shu Uemura, Yves Saint Laurent and Urban Decay. The week-old Urban Decay boutique is not only the first flagship boutique in Singapore, it's the only one in Asia. Of course I had to take a peek!


The 530-square feet boutique is decked in metallic violet and gunmetal grey, similar to their packaging colour scheme. Nothing too shiny to complain about really, because what you get in here is top notch service and an array of makeup you could spend hours playing with.  Besides, there are six makeup counters for you to try your makeup on, all equipped with a tray of neatly stacked cotton pads and makeup remover. 


I also noticed they had a mini wall of fame for their cosmetics tucked in the corner of their boutique, cute! For those starting out with makeup, you can refer to this chart to see which is worth forking out the money for. 

Their All Nighter Setting Spray comes in at number 3,  a whooping disappointment honestly, since so many youtubers have been raving about it ever since it entered the market. I can, however, swear by their Flushed palettes (number 8), a contour, highlight and blush compact that miraculously hasn't hit pan yet, and their 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils (number 4), eye pencils that are very pigmented and creamy to apply. 


Their very helpful staff also alerted me to some store-exclusive products, like their limited edition set of five 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, Revolution Lipsticks that comes in both matte and sheer formulas and their Build Your Own Palette, which you can select four of your favourite eyeshadows and have them all in one case. 


I've been into rose gold lately and I couldn't leave without swatching their ever-raved about Naked Palette, especially Naked 3. The colours are so pigmented and unique, it's practically made to be in my makeup collection! The Vice 4 palette is also said to be the store's latest edition and will be there this week onwards. 


You'll also be happy to know that all prices stated in the Urban Decay boutique are the same as Sephora, so no need for running between the two places to compare prices (like I did).

To celebrate the launch of the new beauty additions in VivoCity, the mall partners Beauty by Nature, Etude House, Shu Uemura, Urban Decay and Yves Saint Laurent will give mini makeovers to shoppers!!! It'll be on the 14-15 Nov and 21-22 Nov from 12pm to 8pm, at the makeup booth at Level 1 (North Court)

To sweeten things further, shoppers can participate in the mall's Instagram contest to win $100 Mapletree vouchers and Beauty Hampers worth more than $750 each! The contest runs from 13-22 Nov, where shoppers can strike their best pose at the photo corner and upload their photo with the hashtag #VivoBeautyAdditions to enter. 
Five most popular photo entries with the highest number of likes will become the lucky winners! You can even show your photo at participating outlets to enjoy special deals and discounts on your beauty purchases too!

Alternatively, shoppers who spend a minimum of $200 in a single receipt at any of the participating beauty tenants between 2-30 Nov can redeem $20 Mapletree vouchers, limited to the first 500 shoppers.
